Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

As Jesus is for the church,
the husband is his wife’s sacrificial shepherd

To the elders among you, ... be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

1 Peter 5:1 ff

Woe unto the sheperds ... who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, says the Lord... and you clothe yourself with wool, but you feed not the sheep... I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep... the fat and the strong I will destroy.

Ezekiel 34:2 ff 

HUSBANDS, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. Indeed, no one ever hated his own body, but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church. For we are members of His body. 

Ephesians 5:25. ff

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, but I am speaking about Christ and the church. Nevertheless, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, so that the wife shall respect her husband.

Ephesians 5:31 ff

You husbands, dwell with your wives as unto the weaker vessel, giving honor unto the woman as being joint-heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. 

1 Peter 3:7

 You had wandered away like sheep. Now you have returned to the one who is your shepherd and protector. WIVES, in the same way, step under the shield of (submit to) your own husbands‘s protection so that, if the husband does not believe the word, he may be won over without words by the behavior of his wife, when he sees the purity and reverence of her life. 

1 Peter 2:25
